In this set of drawings I tried to retrace the story of my maternal grandfather with his photo albums, with my own memories of him and also with archive’s photographs. Often I work with memories or History, in which I develop a new narration. The narration is fragmented, the viewer has to reconstruct it.

What is the link between a poor village of North Italy in 1922 and the wedding of my sister, how History could define your way of thinking and / or behavior ?

"I use my own memories or very common images from films or literature or images from History as a starting point for my work. The Reality is what we percieve from our immediate environnment, that is a mental construction. History and morality are also construction. We need to have a coherent History. Therefore we try to link all the events in a perspective to build up a coherent narrative. Our history, our scale of values, our way of thinking are irrational".

"Obviously I am always speaking about power".
