Work dialogues with contemporary artists

Heimo Zobernig
Kunsthaus Zug, Zug, Switzerland
9 June - 8 September 2024

Frederick Kiesler’s impact was so comprehensive that the Kunsthaus Zug is devoting a second exhibition to him, straight after the first. Its focus is on contemporary artists from several generations who were inspired by this visionary man. Kiesler was often the only point of contact between their otherwise very different oeuvres. This exhibition will show works from the Kunsthaus collection, by artists such as Olafur Eliasson, Heidulf Gerngross, Peter Kogler, Christoph Rütimann and Frederick Kiesler himself. Works by Roman Signer and Thomas Schütte will also be exhibited. Sara Masüger is from Canton Zug and is currently active in Zurich. She is realising a new work for this exhibition that takes its cue directly from Kiesler. Last but not least, prize-winners of the Austrian Frederick and Lillian Kiesler Private Foundation in Vienna will be represented, with Eliasson alongside Heimo Zobernig and Bruce Nauman. This exhibition is a process that is being developed together by artists and the Kunsthaus. You can keep constantly up to date about this process, as well as expressing your own thoughts, on our new website. This dialogue-based exhibition aims to reveal new insights into Kiesler and his oeuvre and is also intended to be a playful, stimulating process for the observer’s own creativity and imagination.
