“It’s Raining Again” – this song would most probably be an appropriate anthem for this summer – hardly a summer at all. The famous Supertramp hit from the 1980s will surely remind us of the numerous rainy days for some time to come. Of course, we all strongly associate certain song titles with specific experiences or memories, may they be beautiful, sorrowful, disturbing or sentimental.

The internationally renowned Basel artist duo Admir Jahic and Comenius Roethlisberger have invented a kind of ping-pong game with song titles, initially just for themselves. They have gradually widened the circle and have started a conversation with artists all over the world. The result of this project, entitled “MUSIC – A Conversation Through Song Titles”, a truly unconventional exhibition, can be experienced on the premises of the Kulturstiftung Basel H. Geiger I KBH.G from the 9th of September onwards. It is indeed unconventional, because you will barely be able to recognise the large exhibition space. I don’t wish to reveal more at this point – you will be surprised.

An exhibition that is dedicated to music titles also calls for a special supporting programme, which will not only take place on the Foundation premises, but additionally in a number of other locations around the city. For all further details, please visit our website.

The collaboration with Jahic/Roethlisberger is a great pleasure for us, because the two artists always steer their project in new directions. And this time, we are pleased to announce, there will be in fact two publications accompanying this exhibition. The exhibition catalogue itself will be available to visitors free of charge, as per usual. And of course, admission to the Kulturstiftung Basel H. Geiger is always free.
